Last year United Healthcare changed the way they pay chiropractors. Due to the limitations created by the new fee schedule, I decided that The Tri Doc would no longer accept their coverage. To make up for that, I contracted with a discount network to help bring down the cost and make the rates affordable. I really felt that this was the best solution given the situation we were dealt. Since that time, I have had lots of opportunities to speak with patients and understand their concerns. The decision had a negative impact on a large number of my patients. Unfortunately the financial burden of bearing all the costs of care, made it impossible for some of my patients to continue care.
I’ve spent lots of time trying to figure out how to make the new UHC system work in and I feel confident that we have come up with a way for this to happen. We have re-contracted with UHC and will be back in their network within a 30-60 day timeframe. We are excited for the ability to help out more people in our area and most importantly, people just like you who have been loyal to The Tri Doc before.
